Summer is a drone’s time to shine. Photographing buildings from above uses the extended daylight and lush greenery to add context and visual appeal.

Here at Benson Photo, we don’t just take snapshots of fleeting moments—we tell compelling stories. Whether we’re showing off your life’s work in a professional portrait or paying homage to historical architecture, we believe that including contextual details strengthens the overall photographic narrative. And in the case of building photography, a drone is essential to getting the big picture—both conceptually and literally.

This sprawling house feels even more picturesque in the context of the beautiful rolling hills around it.

Luxury homes are quite impressive on their own, but flying high to capture the surroundings adds a unique ambience. A gleaming pool can make an apartment building look like a resort. At twilight, sparkling city lights evoke feelings of buzzy excitement, while lush woods create an air of mystery and intrigue.

Twilight and tall trees make this home look like a magical hideaway deep in the woods. The lingering sunset highlights the Philadelphia skyline behind apartments in Old City.

Many of our residential subjects have upscale indoor amenities and shiny new features that can easily advertise themselves, but a drone photograph completes the package by showing off courtyards and outdoor amenities.

Few settings are better suited to drone photography than the outdoor amenities at apartment complexes.

Drones also allow us to highlight nearby natural features that complement a structure’s purpose or theme. A view of the river or ocean adds to the summertime-fun vibes of boathouses and water parks.

Not all water parks come with a view of the ocean, but this one does!

Photographing the area around a subject helps tell a more comprehensive visual story.
