It’s my job to make a space look appealing and welcoming to its users, no matter the location or purpose. There’s unexpected fun in modern office spaces!

Working remotely has its perks—sweatpants, time with pets or kids, the ability to do laundry between meetings—but after a few years of lockdowns, many people are eager to leave the house again. Hybrid schedules that mix remote and office work have become extremely popular with employees who value in-person collaboration but don’t want to fully give up pajama days.

All conversations are better over lunch, if you ask me.

Office spaces have had to adjust to the rise of hybrid work: while less overall space is needed, with fewer people in an office at any given time, there is greater demand for amenities and features that make in-person work more appealing to employees. In some offices, that means fewer formally-assigned cubicles and more multifunctional collaborative spaces, such as lounges and cafeterias. Other offices have added game rooms and even in-house gyms to match the comfort of working from home.

The rise of hybrid work schedules has changed the way office spaces are designed and structured.

There’s no need for an additional trip to the gym, if your office has its own.

For those who miss chatting with coworkers at the water cooler, now you can do so in style—or even take it to the ping-pong table!
