A Staycation-Worthy Apartment

The lounge chairs are anchored to “float” above the pool water here, so there’s no need to choose between laying out and dipping your toes in.

During lockdown, many of us had to figure out how to have fun within the confines of our homes. Some may have purchased workout equipment or game consoles. Others may have brought home a new four-legged friend.

A dedicated pet space gives four-legged tenants a little luxury of their own.

As hybrid work continues to maintain popularity—even as restrictions are lifted—it has become evident that people spend more time at home than ever before. It’s no longer enough to provide a place to sleep and eat; work and play must be covered too.

A dramatic spiral staircase connects the lobby to the amenities upstairs.

I am often called upon to document apartment complexes, and I’ve noticed that, in recent years, larger complexes have been putting more and more effort into providing upscale amenities. Small pools and simple courtyards have been replaced by rooftop spaces, pools with hot tubs, mini movie theaters, pool and ping-pong tables, and full-size gyms.

Sun, shade, or swim? You can do it all without leaving home.

My trusty drone helped me take this aerial shot of three courtyard social areas.

No need for a membership if the gym is just downstairs!

As an architectural photographer, I am always seeking to create images that make the viewer feel like they are in the space, as if they could walk directly into the photograph. This is especially useful when virtually “touring” a prospective rental.

This model apartment demonstrates a potential layout to renters.

A spacious high-ceiling loft bedroom and enormous windows make starting each day a little brighter.
